James "Pat" Patrick Reagan

February 20, 1941 ~ February 20, 2021 (age 80)


            James Patrick “Pat” Reagan, 80, of Montgomery City, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his home in Montgomery City, on his 80th birthday, surrounded by his family.

            Mr. Reagan was born February 20, 1941 in Montgomery City, Missouri, a son of John D. and Lorene M. (Jones) Reagan. 

            He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Montgomery City. 

            In March 1994 at Scottsdale, Arizona, he married Victoria “Vicki” Varner.  She preceded him in death.

            Pat has lived in Montgomery City almost his entire life.  For a short time, he had lived in Scottsdale, Arizona and Tehachapi, California. 

            Pat had been employed with the City of Montgomery for several years.  He had also been a dog catcher for animal control.  In previous years, Pat was a truck driver for Callaway Carriers and when he was younger, he worked in construction while in California.

            Pat was an active member of the Montgomery City Lions Club, where he enjoyed working at the BBQ’s and helping with the fishing derbies for the kids.  Pat was a former member of the Montgomery City Knights of Columbus. 

            Pat loved life and especially enjoyed the outdoors.  He was an avid fisherman and really liked taking his great-grandchildren fishing.  He enjoyed hunting and hardly ever missed a deer season with his family.  Pat also liked farming, gardening and watching western movies.  Pat never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone he encountered.  More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his great-grandchildren, where he also enjoyed watching Adrianna and Kolton’s ball games as well as watching Tanner play on his farm.

            Pat is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janna and Steven Craven, of Rural Montgomery County; step-children, Ann (Bill) Clutter, of Tallahassee, Florida, Tommy (Heather) Howell, Janice Nichols and Jamie (John) Criswell, all of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Sanchez and son Landon, Jake Reagan, Corey Reagan and Ryan (Sophia) Reagan, of the State of California and James and Tommy Howell, of the State of Florida; great-grandchildren and the light of his life, Adrianna, Kolton and Tanner Craven, of Rural Montgomery County; brother and sister-in-law, Earnest and Valerie Reagan, of Perris, California; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and John Pasley, of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Bernice Reagan, of High Ridge, Becky Reagan, of Wellsville and Diane Reagan, of Montgomery City; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorene Reagan; wife, Vicki Reagan; sons, Kevin, Larry and Sean Reagan; step-sons, Bobby and John Hope; son-in-law, Paul Nichols; grandson, Jeremiah Beasley; brothers, Charles “Jack” Reagan, Thomas "Tom" Reagan, Robert "Bob" Reagan, David “Bill” Reagan; brother-in-law, Tom Varner and sisters-in-law, Helen Reagan and Bunny Reagan. 

            Memorial services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.  Rev. Ralph Williams officiated.

            Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.

            Inurnment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Montgomery City, Missouri.  Honorary pallbearers were Garrett Banks, Tucker Banks, Jason Bostic, Charlie Craven, Kolton Craven, Ryan Craven, Steve Craven, Jim Harrower, David Reagan, Dennis Reagan, Randy Reagan, Russell Reagan and Dorsey Stotler.

            As per Pat’s wishes, memorial contributions were to go to his great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Kolton and Tanner Craven for their education c/o Myers Funeral Home, 203 East Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
